One March morning shortly after I arrived at the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area in Pennsylvania I was greeted with this sunrise. Most of my Middle Creek images include Snow Geese and or Tundra Swans but this sunrise was so spectacular by itslef I decided to include it. In late February and early March each year, thousands of Snow Geese, Chen caerulescens, gather here to feed in the outlying corn fields and prepare for the long flight to their nesting grounds on the Arctic tundra in the northern part of Canada. |
